A Spanish Renaissance depiction of Menippus

Menippus (MEN-i-puss) was a 3rd century BCE cynic and satirist, unfortunately his written works did not survive. The name seems to mean good with horses (In battle).

Menippus is Elimine’s servant. Later in the play he tells Elimine that her husband has had an affair with Samathis.
