Ianthe

Ianthe (EYE-an-thee) The name belongs to three different girls from Greek mythology, a Cretan girl who falls in love with another girl dressed as a boy. Isis turns Ianthe into a boy so the couple can marry (Lily’s Galathea is based on this story). Ianthe is also one of the 3000 children of the Titan Oceanus, and she is a girl so beautiful that when she died the Gods made purple flowers grow on her grave. The name actually is also the name of a purple flower.

Ianthe is one of Aegiale’s hand maids.
