Elimine (e-LIM-inee) Elimine is most likely an English bastardization of Eulimene, the name of two characters in Greek myth. One is a nereid, the other is a Cretan daughter of Cydon who had an affair with Lycastus, though she was betrothed to Apterus. Her father must sacrifice a virgin, and the lots fall to Eulimene. Lycastus confesses to having slept with her, but Eulimene is condemned for death for that act. After her death examination of her remains confirms she was pregnant. Her name most likely translates as good harbor.

Elimine is one of three maids who come to Irus looking to have their fortune told. Elimine marries Count Hermes, and has an affair with Leon. She eventually marries King Prous.
